Michelle Mackenzie is best described as a Visual Artist. As a pioneer in the industry, she is one of the first South Africans to be trained in Brazilian Stretch Mark & Scar Camouflage Tattoooing directly through a Colombian based Institution.
She is not only a specialised Camouflage Micropigmentation & Paramedical Tattoo Artist but also an award winning Creative Director, Skin Care Expert and Makeup Artist with internationally acclaimed qualifications. After graduating from The International Academy of Health & Skincare in her early career, she travelled and worked extensively abroad as a private Skin Care Therapist to public figures, lead a team of makeup artists as Makeup HOD at an international television station, managed Aesthetic Clinics, an IV Drip Bar and developed and launched new boutique spas. She held the position of Educator for the renowned 5 star, Spas Of Distinction Group (SOD) at Soulstice Day Spa, Pretoria and Life Day Spa, Fourways before starting Colour Synthesis.
It is a combination of her vast knowledge, understanding and experience of the skin, aesthetics and body treatments that enables Michelle to not only permanently correct stretch marks, scars, vitiligo, hypo-pigmentation, breast areola’s and dark under eye circles but also treat some of the conditions in their early stages with Corrective Needling also known as microneedling. Her passion is skin rejuvenation, skin DNA and creative makeup.
In March 2022, dedicated to our generation of Covid Survivors, she wrote, directed, produced and styled her first Short Fashion Film titled, ‘The Release’. The film was selected by the Bokeh South African International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival and Gauteng Film Commission as an Emerging Creative Talent Finalist 2021. She was also awarded Best First Time Director by The London Movie Awards 2022, Best Costume Design & Makeup by Seoul International Monthly Film Festival 2022 and an Honourable Mention at the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival 2022.
Among other accolades, Michelle was also awarded ‘Finalist’ by the International Beauty Awards, New York in the category of Best Reparative Makeup 2021 and 2023.
